D — 55° rhombic

Second letter: clearance

C — 7° normal clearance

Third and fourth letters

Tolerance class and insert type / features. They do not identify a supplier-specific grade or chipbreaker.

Size, thickness, corner radius and supplier-specific suffixes complete the purchasing reference. Send the full designation from your existing insert box or drawing.
